Sauna Bathing Can not Remove Toxins

Many people are crazy for believing sauna linger in the hot steam can remove toxins in the body. Though there is no toxicity in the sweat that came out during sauna bath. Substances most missing from the body is water, not poison.

And if someone has lost a lot of water, the body can not long survive the risk of death to be its greatest threat.

As reported by the Health, Monday (15/2/2010), three people died and several others seriously ill last week after performing rituals in the detoxification of an expensive spa in Arizona. The spa owner, James Arthur Ray was finally arrested on the case.

According to Dr. Rachel Vreeman of the Indiana University School of Medicine, action cleanse the body through excessive transpiration is very dangerous.

“The body is already designed to be able to perform natural detoxification process through the various processes in the organs of the body,” said Dr. Vreeman.

Some organs are functioning out toxins in the body include:
Liver, remove toxins function in the blood that can not be used by the body.
Kidney function out toxins in the urine which is a product of protein metabolism.
Intestinal function remove what can not be used by the body and what your body can use.

“As long as there is a myth that these organs is a place to accumulate toxins, which have released through sweat, but that’s not true. The primary function of sweat is not to remove the poison, but to regulate body temperature,” explained Dr Vreeman.

Although the main component of sweat is water, but sweat also contains some dissolved minerals and other elements, such as sodium, lactate, urea, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, nickel, insisted, chromium and others.

None of toxicity in sweat. So if a person sweats, the substance is missing most of the body is water, not poison. And if someone has lost a lot of water, the body can not survive for long.

The term detox is usually perceived as something that must be done to remove toxins in the body, and that according to Dr. Vreeman make someone does not believe in his own body.

“The body does not need treatment or special effort to clean up. All it takes is getting enough fluid intake and consumption of healthy food,” said Dr. Vreeman.

Some studies say that doing the sauna can lower blood pressure, increases blood flow and cardiac function. But none of the evidence or study that says that a sauna can remove toxins.

However, in some states in America still found in places where promising detoxification through perspiration. In fact it has become part of the culture and tradition there. They believed that the sweat can clear the mind and body.

Women Mayan and Aztec tribes such as using sweat as part of a ritual to obtain fertility. While the men to use sweat as a preparation for hunting and others.

In an environment that is too hot or too cold, sweat serves to balance how much heat to be generated or how many are already released. But if the sweat expelled continuously for a long time, the body can not cool the body with enough.

As a result, some symptoms such as skin burns, dehydration, shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, fainting, kidney failure and even death can occur
